The Brookfield Academy Blue Knights will square off against the Luther Prep Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brookfield Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over Shorewood. The Blue Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Julia Van Bogart made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brookfield Academy got a massive performance out of Leora Schmidt, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. That's the most runs Schmidt has posted since back in April. Riley Bodor was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.
Brookfield Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Luther Prep had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They blew past the Lightning 9-2.
Like Brookfield Academy, Luther Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Addy Schmidt. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Schmidt has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Myah Pederson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kiara Humann, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Luther Prep pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brookfield Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Both Brookfield Academy and Luther Prep just can't seem to miss. The Blue Knights have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Luther Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
