Grand Ledge is a perfect 9-0 against Waverly since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Grand Ledge and Holt meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Comets took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Braeden McDaniels made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Waverly lost 13-3 to DeWitt on Monday. The Warriors have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Grand Ledge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Grand Ledge got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Waverly by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
