Baseball Game Preview: Meigs County Tigers vs. Polk County Wildcats

For the second straight game, Meigs County will face off against Polk County. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Meigs County Tigers take on Polk County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meigs County's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Polk County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Meigs County and Polk County meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 9-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

For Polk County's part, Tanner Silvers was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaden Branham, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Polk County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Meigs County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
