Softball Game Preview: Palatine Pirates vs. Resurrection Bandits

The Palatine Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Resurrection Bandits at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Palatine's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Saturday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Palatine is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 29th on Friday. They came up short against Barrington, falling 10-0.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Resurrection and Saint Ignatius College Prep, and Saint Ignatius College Prep kept the tradition alive. The Bandits lost 15-5 to the Wolfpack on Friday.

Palatine's loss dropped their record down to 13-15-1. As for Resurrection, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Palatine couldn't quite finish off Resurrection when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
