Baseball Recap: Stillwater Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Stillwater let Irondale stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Monday but luckily Stillwater prevailed anyway. The Ponies skirted past the Knights 9-7. That's more bragging rights for the Ponies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Jack Runk, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was AJ Levy, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Stillwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Stillwater pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Irondale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Stillwater will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
