Basketball Game Preview: Randolph Southern Rebels vs. Blue River Valley Vikings

Randolph Southern is 2-8 against Blue River Valley since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Randolph Southern Rebels will face off against the Blue River Valley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Blue River Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Randolph Southern, who comes in off a win.

Randolph Southern took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They breezed by Anderson Prep Academy to the tune of 62-23. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Haileigh Allen was her usual excellent self, going 11 of 25 en route to 28 points along with eight boards and eight steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tarissa Watson, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Randolph Southern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Blue River Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 66-17 loss at the hands of Monroe Central. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-11.

Blue River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Randolph Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Everything went Randolph Southern's way against Blue River Valley in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Randolph Southern made off with a 54-31 win. Will Randolph Southern repeat their success, or does Blue River Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
