Softball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jefferson on Tuesday, Highlands came back down to earth. The Owls came up short against the Seguin Matadors on Friday, falling 13-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Owls of the 14-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Jenesis Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. Erilynn Walker was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Seguin, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-10-1.

Highlands has already played their next contest, a 16-0 victory against Brackenridge on the 24th. As for Seguin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Lanier on the 27th.
