Baseball Game Preview: Millennium Tigers vs. Sunnyslope Vikings

The Millennium Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Sunnyslope Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Millennium will be strutting in after a victory while Sunnyslope will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Millennium needed a bit of extra time to put away Alhambra. They skirted past the Lions 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since March 20th.

Xavier Candelaria looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Millennium's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Perrin, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sunnyslope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millennium.

Camden Grove was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Millennium and bumps their season record up to 18-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Sunnyslope, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Millennium beat Sunnyslope 9-5 in their previous meeting on Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
