Soccer Game Preview: Carolina Academy vs. Powdersville

Carolina Academy hasn't had much luck against Powdersville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trojans will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m.

Things were looking good for Carolina Academy after they put the first goal on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Blue Ridge by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Powdersville faced St. Joseph's Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Patriots never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Powdersville's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

JP Spearman and Brody Pike scored both of Powdersville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Powdersville's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Carolina Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
