Basketball Game Preview: Johnston City Indians vs. Vienna Eagles

Johnston City is 0-10 against Vienna since December of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Johnston City Indians will head out to take on the Vienna Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Johnston City sitting on three straight wins and Vienna on 13.

Last Thursday, Johnston City didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Trico, but they still walked away with a 38-33 victory.

Meanwhile, after only two points in their last game, Vienna made sure to put some points up on the board against Anna-Jonesboro on Saturday. Vienna simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Anna-Jonesboro 84-34. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Vienna's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Johnston City, their victory bumped their record up to 20-7.

Johnston City was taken down by Vienna 62-26 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Johnston City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
