Baseball Recap: Conval's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

ConVal can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They never let the Merrimack Valley Pride get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since May 20, 2024.

Not much got past Isaac Clough, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Merrimack Valley off the board. Clough is becoming a predictor of ConVal's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 1-10 when he doesn't).

At the plate, ConVal's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gus Hatmaker, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

ConVal's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Merrimack Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
