Basketball Recap: Legacy Academy Warriors vs. Gospel Light Christian Lions
After flying high against Victory Christian back in December of 2024, Legacy Academy came back down to earth. 2025 welcomed the Legacy Academy Warriors with a 56-36 loss courtesy of the Gospel Light Christian Lions on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered against the Lions since December 10, 2021.

Legacy Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Manolo Vazquez, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Vazquez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Silas Lofton was another key player, putting up seven points.
Even though they lost, Legacy Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive games.
