Softball Recap: Plainfield Central Has No Trouble Against Bolingbrook

Plainfield Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Bolingbrook on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Raiders. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jamie Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Maeve Carlton was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Sophia Patterson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Plainfield Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bolingbrook only managed four hits.

Plainfield Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10-1 record this season. As for Bolingbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
