Volleyball Game Preview: Central Dragons vs. Forest Hills Rangers

After both having extra time off, the Central Dragons and the Forest Hills Rangers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over McKeesport.

Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-18, 25-13, 25-18.

Blake Reynolds had an outrageously good game as he had 17 digs and four aces.

Meanwhile, Forest Hills had just enough and edged out Bishop Guilfoyle 3-2 on Wednesday. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Marauders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Forest Hills took Bishop Guilfoyle into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 18-25, 15-12.

Central better keep an eye on Carter Stoykovich. He was instrumental in Forest Hills' win, getting 19 digs and one assist.

The victory got Forest Hills back to even at 1-1. As for Central, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Central came up short against Forest Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
