Basketball Recap: Jason Watson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sunset over Jefferson

Sunset was the 66-60 winner over Jefferson when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sunset Bison fell to the Jefferson Patriots 49-44.

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Watson, who posted six points in addition to six assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Dayvion Mitchell, who earned nine points.

Sunset has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Jefferson, their victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14.

Sunset will square off against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson has already played their next contest (against Molina), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
