Baseball Recap: Greenville H Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Greenville H dropped their record down to 13-10 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Southside Christian Sabres, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Hurricanes couldn't push the score so high this time.

Greenville H got a good showing from Adam Greene, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Greene didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Daniel Wackerhagen was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Southside Christian, they pushed their record up to 19-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Considering they have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Southside Christian's side, their victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reeves Israel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Looking ahead, Greenville H will face off against St. Joseph's Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southside Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Carolina Academy at 5:00 p.m. The Sabres are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
