Recap: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Arbor View Aggies
The Desert Pines Jaguars put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Arbor View at home to the tune of 62-27. Fans of Desert Pines have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Desert Pines' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trista Mabry, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Mabry has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mya Harper, who scored 18 points.
Desert Pines has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Arbor View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Desert Pines will head out on the road to face off against Dixie at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Dixie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. Arbor View will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Democracy Prep Agassi Campus at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
