Basketball Recap: Kiersten Kassner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain View Christian Academy over Carolina Christian

Mountain View Christian Academy was the 1-0 winner over Carolina Christian when they last played one another back in November, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain View Christian Academy Mustangs came up short against the Carolina Christian Lions on Monday, falling 55-35. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mountain View Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiersten Kassner, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Jordan, who had eight points.

Carolina Christian found their leader in sophomore Lola Wilson, who put up 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taelynn Austin, who posted 13 points.

Mountain View Christian Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Carolina Christian, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Mountain View Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Palmetto Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain View Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Carolina Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
