Baseball Game Preview: Skaneateles Lakers vs. Homer Trojans

For the second straight game, Skaneateles will face off against Homer. The Lakers will welcome the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Skaneateles was able to grind out a solid victory over Homer, taking the game 5-1. The Lakers haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Sean Olley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Skaneateles is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Shea Musso and Colton McDonald did most of the damage at the plate: Musso went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while McDonald went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Musso has posted since back in April. Hugh Carroll was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Skaneateles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Skaneateles back to even at 6-6. As for Homer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
