Basketball Recap: Buckeye's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

If Washington wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Buckeye, they should've done a better job of containing Jaelah Brown. The Hawks blew past the Rams 71-10 on Thursday with plenty of help from Brown, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 17 boards. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 47.3% field goal percentage.

Skylee White was another key player, putting up eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks. White is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The victory keeps Buckeye at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 60.2 points this season. As for Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Buckeye wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-50 victory against Estrella Foothills on the 12th. As for Washington, they will head out to challenge Kellis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
