St. Paul waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Edison Chargers as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Flyers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 25-13.
St. Paul had a senior duo take command as Bella Guerra had 14 digs and four aces and Lily Cuturic had nine digs and three assists. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Guerra.
When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, don't look at Paige McFadden. Despite the final result, she had eight assists and seven digs.
St. Paul's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Edison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
St. Paul will be taking part in a tournament against St. Mary Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Edison, they will take on Western Reserve in a tournament on Thursday.
