Baseball Recap: Del Norte Comes Up Short

Del Norte's last matchup with Sandia Prep could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Saturday. The Del Norte Knights lost 12-1 to the Sandia Prep Sundevils. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Sundevils: they've now lost six in a row.

Del Norte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakari Morenike, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Del Norte's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1. As for Sandia Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Del Norte will square off against West Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Norte has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Sandia Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Michael's at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
