Football Game Preview: Lewis Cass Kings vs. Wabash Apaches

The Lewis Cass Kings will head out on the road to face off against the Wabash Apaches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Lewis Cass nor Wabash posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

On Friday, Lewis Cass came up short against Maconaquah and fell 21-13. The Kings haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Gavin Smith and Marcell Sims. Sims had a great game and gained 151 total yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Smith did his best for the losing side, rushing for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Wabash played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 48-13 loss at the hands of Northwestern. The Apaches were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

Although Wabash took the loss, they still got scores from Treyce Daughtry and Davon Osborn.

Wabash's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lewis Cass, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Lewis Cass beat Wabash 31-20 in their previous matchup back in October of 2015. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
