Basketball Game Preview: Tri County Trojans vs. Heartland Huskies

The Tri County Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Heartland Huskies on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tri County has three straight victories, Heartland has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Tri County is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Sterling: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Tri County blew Sterling out of the water with a 64-24 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-10.

Drew Siems continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 27 points and nine rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Tri County's points. Another player making a difference was Jason Wehrman, who posted nine points and eight boards.

Tri County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sterling only pulled down two offensive boards.

Meanwhile, in Thursday's Canine Competition, Heartland didn't have enough. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Osceola on Thursday.

Tri County's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Heartland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Tri County didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Heartland when the teams last played last Saturday, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory. Does Tri County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Heartland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
