Baseball Recap: Stevenson Has No Trouble Against Rancho San Juan

Stevenson's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Flint Dickson tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Reggie Bell was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tono Borgomini, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Stevenson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Rancho San Juan, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Stevenson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trailblazers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
