Washington barely beat Mt. Vernon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hatchets blew past the Wildcats 7-2 on Saturday. Considering Washington have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Mt. Vernon with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Leah Owens (3), Adara Rainey (2), and Piper Young (2).

The victory made it two in a row for Washington and bumps their season record up to 10-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those two matches. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Washington wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Forest Park on the 30th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against North Posey on the 30th.
