Football Recap: Kyler Drunasky's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Desert Vista over Westwood

The Desert Vista Thunder lost to the Westwood Warriors on the road by a 35-21 margin on Friday. The contest marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Desert Vista lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kyler Drunasky, who rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 87 receiving yards. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 64 yards. Seth Hanson was another key player, throwing for 217 yards and one TD.

It was another big night for Keshawn Barkus, who rushed for 289 yards and three scores for Westwood. Elliot Reed also helped out as he racked up 131 rushing yards.

Desert Vista now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Westwood, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Desert Vista and Westwood will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Thunder are set to face off against their familiar foe ALA - Queen Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Westwood will square off against rival Basha at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
