Softball Recap: Seaforth Beats Whiteville for Their Sixth Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Seaforth rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Whiteville Wolfpack, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won six matches in a row.

Emma Grace Hill was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Hill wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Seaforth's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Whiteville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

Seaforth has already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against North Johnston on the 9th. Whiteville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
