Basketball Recap: Hardin Northern Triumphs

Hardin Northern hadn't done well against Ridgemont recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hardin Northern Polar Bears pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over the Ridgemont Golden Gophers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Polar Bears as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Hardin Northern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Rostorfer led the charge by putting up 12 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Rostorfer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Stewart, who posted ten points and five assists.

Hardin Northern's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Ridgemont, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-4.

Hardin Northern has already played their next contest, a 72-36 defeat against Arlington on the 1st. As for Ridgemont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-58 loss against Van Buren on the 1st.
