Volleyball Recap: Providence Christian Eagles vs. Opp Bobcats
Providence Christian was the 3-1 winner over Opp when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Providence Christian Eagles fell just short of the Opp Bobcats by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Providence Christian actually scored more points across those three sets (57-54), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-19, 15-13.
Opp got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madie Wilson out in front who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Wilson has posted since Saturday. Another player making a difference was Crislyn Birge, who had 17 digs.
Providence Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Opp, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Providence Christian is on the road again on Monday to play Headland at 6:00 p.m. As for Opp, they will face off against Straughn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
