Softball Game Preview: Mountainside Mavericks vs. Hillsboro Spartans

The Mountainside Mavericks will square off against the Hillsboro Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Mountainside needed a bit of extra time to put away Wilsonville. They won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Mavericks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Libby Wilson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro made easy work of Cleveland last Thursday and carried off a 17-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Mountainside's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Hillsboro, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
