Baseball Recap: Charles City Comes Up Short

Charles City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Algona Bulldogs, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Charles City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-23. As for Algona, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That lines up perfectly with their 21-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Algona beat Charles City by a score of 12-0 later that day.
