Baseball Recap: Centennial Wins Going Away Against Danville

Centennial won the last time they faced Danville and things went their way on Friday too. The Chargers blew past the Vikings 17-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Cal Meyers was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Centennial's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 8-13 when he doesn't). Ty Hunt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville only posted an OBP of .238.

Centennial's record is now 11-13. As for Danville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-2 loss against Tolono Unity on the 10th. As for Danville, they will challenge Champaign Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Maroons will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
