Basketball Recap: Greenfield Takes a Loss

Greenfield and Whitnall squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Greenfield had to settle for second. The contest between the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks and the Whitnall Falcons didn't end well, with the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks falling 53-38. The defeat continues a trend for the Hustlin' Hawks in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost five in a row.

Whitnall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Koch led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Pitta, who posted 14 points.

Greenfield's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Whitnall, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-3.

Greenfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Whitnall, they will face off against Union Grove on Thursday. Union Grove will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Whitnall surely won't give up without a fight.
