Kenai Central had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Homer on Thursday. The Kardinals never let the Mariners get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Kenai Central in their matchups with Homer: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Redington had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Palmer by a score of 1-0. Redington have struggled against Palmer recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
