Kasidi Daugherty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tri-County North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Adkins, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Ansonia never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Franklin Monroe. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bre Walker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Miley Walls was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Addie Geyer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Ansonia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Ansonia is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-County North, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tri-County North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Ansonia struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
