Softball Recap: Mauston Comes Up Short

Mauston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to the Westfield Area Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-0 back in April.

Mauston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Westfield Area, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Mauston will welcome Sparta at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Westfield Area, they will head out to take on Wild Rose at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
