Softball Game Preview: Monomoy Sharks vs. Falmouth Clippers

The Monomoy Sharks will face off against the Falmouth Clippers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Monomoy barely beat Mashpee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sharks put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 28-1 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Alana Lojko was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Lojko was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Lilly Furman was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with four runs and four RBI. Lexi Totten was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

Meanwhile, Falmouth got the win against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional on Wednesday by a conclusive 26-19.

The win got Falmouth back to even at 1-1. As for Monomoy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Monomoy beat Falmouth 7-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Sharks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Clippers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
