Softball Recap: Neptune Comes Up Short

Neptune was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Brick Township Green Dragons, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Green Dragons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-6 loss back in April.

Lauren Cassidy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Zymiah Figueroa also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Neptune's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Brick Township, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Neptune has already played their next contest (against Keyport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Brick Township also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Ranney.
