Softball Recap: Carver's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Carver came into Thursday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Hull Pirates 12-6 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-6 back in April.

Lyla Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Devlyn Mullen was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Regina Silva, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Carver picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-4-1. As for Hull, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver will host Abington at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hull, they will be playing at home against Cohasset at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
