Basketball Game Preview: Irvine Vaqueros vs. Tesoro Titans + How To Watch

The Irvine Vaqueros will head out to take on the Tesoro Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Irvine was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-55 to Whitney. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Vaqueros came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 999th).

Meanwhile, Tesoro came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 63-57 W against the Wolverines. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Irvine has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Tesoro, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Irvine was able to grind out a solid victory over Tesoro in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 48-39. Do the Vaqueros have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
