Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nansemond-Suffolk Academy). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the First Colonial Patriots on Friday, sneaking past 89-87. The victory continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

Leading Nansemond-Suffolk Academy to victory were Madden Gilliatt and Noah Cannon. Gilliatt dropped a double-double on 30 points and 18 boards, while Cannon shot 8-for-12 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. Gilliatt is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 12 games he's played. Howard Casterlow was another key player, putting up seven points and 12 assists.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive contests.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for First Colonial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
