Bunn triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Domantea Cooke

Recap: Bunn Wildcats vs. Nash Central Bulldogs

Even though the Bunn Wildcats have not done well against the Nash Central Bulldogs recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Bunn came out on top against Nash Central by a score of 48-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bunn.

Domantea Cooke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jackson, who scored nine points.

Nash Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephen Howard, who scored 14 points along with three steals. That was a full 38.9% of Nash Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Markell Jasper was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Bunn now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Nash Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bunn will face off against Roanoke Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roanoke Rapids focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. Nash Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against SouthWest Edgecombe at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. SouthWest Edgecombe is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.8 points per game.
