Baseball Game Preview: Fletcher Wildcats vs. Lookeba-Sickles Panthers

Fletcher has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lookeba-Sickles recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Fletcher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Fletcher will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Cyril on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 15-5 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Fletcher let EJ Squyres and Morgan Harrington run wild. Squyres scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Harrington got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. Fletcher is undefeated when Harrington posts two or more stolen bases, but 9-11 otherwise.

Fletcher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Lookeba-Sickles' offense. They came up short against Hammon on Monday, falling 12-0.

Lookeba-Sickles saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Taylor, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double was Taylor's first of the season.

Lookeba-Sickles' loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Fletcher, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.

Fletcher took their win against Lookeba-Sickles when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
