Softball Recap: Ramona Convent Wins Going Away Against Westridge

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Wednesday. Ramona Convent put the hurt on Westridge with a sharp 28-2 win. This was payback for Ramona Convent, who suffered a 13-12 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Madison Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Garcia was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Citlali Garcia was incredible, going 5-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mariana Figueroa, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Ramona Convent lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westridge didn't launched any home runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Ramona Convent and bumps their season record up to 15-6. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 24.5 runs. As for Westridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ramona Convent will square off against South Gate at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Westridge, they will take on Flintridge Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
