Softball Recap: Hammond Comes Up Short

Hammond suffered their biggest loss since March 4th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats, falling 21-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their meetings with the Swampcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Hammond saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Sapp, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Laurence Manning Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Coming up, Hammond will square off against Providence Athletic Club at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Skyhawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they will face off against Orangeburg Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
