Volleyball Recap: Groesbeck Takes a Loss

Groesbeck lost against Teague back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Goats fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. The Goats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Groesbeck took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-27, 21-25, 27-25, 15-10.

Hannah Slater paced Groesbeck's offense, picking up 23 kills. Slater got some help from Landrie Pringle and her 47 assists. Slater also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kealey Trojacek, each putting up two.

Groesbeck's loss dropped their record down to 19-15. As for Teague, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Groesbeck is set to square off against their familiar foe Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Teague will challenge rival Elkhart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
