Preview: Magnet Cove vs. Atkins
Magnet Cove have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Atkins at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close contest.
Magnet Cove had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were able to grind out a solid victory over Mountain View two weeks ago, winning 28-18. Senior Eli Dawson, who rushed for 205 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Magnet Cove's success.
Meanwhile, Atkins made easy work of Dover last Friday and carried off a 28-0 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Atkins had established a 28-0 advantage.
Their wins bumped Atkins to 2-0 and Magnet Cove to 1-0. While both teams are coming in off of wins, only one will triumph this week. Who will it be ? Check back in with MaxPreps after the game is over for details.
