Basketball Recap: Andrew Jackson Comes Up Short

Andrew Jackson suffered their biggest defeat since January 23, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the Ponte Vedra Sharks, falling 58-35. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ponte Vedra found their leader in freshman Jocelyn Hoffmann, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 18 points. The game was Hoffmann's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arden Doherty, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Andrew Jackson's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Ponte Vedra, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Andrew Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-44 defeat against Beachside on the 25th. As for Ponte Vedra, they are taking a road trip to take on Menendez at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Menendez will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Ponte Vedra surely won't give up without a fight.
