Basketball Recap: Highland Park Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highland Park can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Shore Regional Blue Devils and fell 78-32. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th in New Jersey, while the Blue Devils are ranked 101st in New Jersey).

Leading Shore Regional to victory were Ava Coyle and Reese Fiore. Coyle went 8-for-13 on her way to 20 points and four steals, while Fiore went 8-for-13 en route to 21 points. What's more, Coyle also posted a 62% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Kimi Sayson was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Highland Park is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8. As for Shore Regional, their win bumped their record up to 15-12.

As of now, neither Highland Park nor Shore Regional have any future games scheduled.
